Bring the whole family. Plenty of children's activities including a snow cone maker, balloon makers, face painter, bouncy house, games that include tug-of-war, and handouts. Its a great way to get to know your public safety officials.

We hope to see you there!

Bicycle Safety

Summer is approaching. That means there are likely to be more children out and about on their bicycles.

Parents, please remind your children that they must ride a bicycle with the flow of traffic. California Vehicle Code Section 21650.1 requires that "A bicycle operated on a roadway, or the shoulder of a highway, shall be operated in the same direction as vehicles are required to be driven upon the roadway."

If you are riding your bicycle against the flow of traffic, you are more likely to be involved in a vehicle vs. bicycle collision because motorist are not expecting you to ride against the flow of traffic. Plus, you would most likely be considered "at-fault" in a collision when riding against the flow of traffic.

Please stay safe and always wear a helmet when traveling on your bicycle.

Thank You!

Thank you for being a part of Atherton Online.

Have a great weekend.

Theresa DellaSanta,
Assistant to the City Manager/City Clerk
