Join us THIS Tuesday!

National Night Out is this Tuesday.

On Tuesday, August 1, 2017 from 6pm to 8pm, the Town of Atherton will host its fourth annual National Night Out in the Park at Holbrook-Palmer Park, 150 Watkins Ave.

National Night Out is a nation-wide program designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support and participation in crime efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community relations, and let criminals know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Atherton Chief McCulley

Come meet your New Police Chief!

Atherton residents are asked to turn on their outside lights, lock their doors, and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police at Holbrook-Palmer Park. This is a great chance to come meet Atherton's new Police Chief Steven McCulley.

Residents are encouraged to come and have fun and use the time to discuss neighborhood issues with their
local police and set neighborhood goals and Watch Programs.

The event will include balloon makers and face painters, popcorn and sno cones, music, a jumpy house, and a BBQ.

The family-oriented event will be highlighted by the CHP emergency helicopter which will land in the grassy field of the Park for children to look at and take pictures in. The helicopter will land at 7:30PM in the park!

Support Atherton Adopt a Unit

This year's event will include a booth run by the Atherton Police Department introducing Atherton Adopt a Unit.

America Supporting Americans (ASA) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that links military units to communities across the country. The Adopt a Unit program includes the sending of letters and care packages from the the Town and its community to the Adopted Unit. These acts help boost the morale of those serving far from home on behalf of our Country.

At their July 19 meeting, the City Council formally adopted a resolution expressing its support by adopting Baker Company, 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry, 1st Brigade, 101st Airborne Division.

Please visit the booth to find out how you can help facilitate partnerships, raise funds, and facilitate the support of soldiers and their families.

For more information contact Detective Jason Bollendorf at jbollendorf@ci.atherton.ca.us or 650-752-0556.
