Street Maintenance in Town

Later this month the Town plans to begin street maintenance along various streets in Atherton. As usual the prioject includes cape sealing the roads, followed by an overlay project which entails grinding 2" of the existing asphalt, repairing any pavement failures and repaving 2” inches of asphalt.

Areas in Town where any of this work is performed will also receive replacement striping and pavement markings.

Beginning next week, the Town will post a list of streets that will have this work performed and closure dates on its website. The Town's contractor will post a seven day notice and a 48-hour notice on resident’s doors/front gates/mailboxes that are impacted by the project, along with a construction sign on each end of a street segment that indicates the day, time of the road closure, and contractor’s contact information.

In addition, barricades will be lining the streets with “NO PARKING” signs and explanatory “WORK NOTIFICATION” signs as well.
