LLoyden Park & Lindenwood

The Town is currently designing new lighting circuits for the Lloyden Park and Lindenwood neighborhoods to replace the old high voltage series circuitry that currently power the lights.

The new circuitry will use current technologies and will be more reliable and efficient to maintain. The project includes replacing the existing series circuit light fixtures with new energy efficient LED lights on top of the existing light poles and repainting them.

The Town is seeking your feedback on which new light fixtures to install based on your opinion of the overall look of the light fixture and the quality of light it exudes.

We have installed samples of each type of light fixture we intend to use as replacements - Post Top and Hanging Pendant types. We are seeking to maintain a similar level of illumination, and to match the current fixture style and appearance.

Please take a moment to tell us what you think, and you may also want to visit the sample fixtures in the neighborhoods.

Recology Poster Contest - Prizes!

RethinkWaste is calling on all 3rd through 5th grade students in its service area to show off their artistic talents in the Agency’s third annual America Recycles Day Poster Contest. The theme of the contest is “Rethink Waste - Be Recycled!” which is in line with the
national theme for this year’s America Recycles Day. This means you are actively choosing to live a recycled lifestyle by committing to reduce, reuse, recycle. The winning artwork will be prominently displayed and used on various RethinkWaste public education and outreach materials in 2017.

The posters must be 8.5 x 14 inches and any medium can be used, including paint, markers, crayons, colored pencils. Bright, rich colors are encouraged. Only one entry per student will be accepted and posters must include original artwork only.

The posters must be submitted by 5 pm on Friday, October 28, 2016 to RethinkWaste at 610 Elm Street, Suite 202 (second floor of the San Carlos Library) in San Carlos. A total of five posters that best meet the criteria will be chosen out of all of the entries and posted online for the public to vote for their top three favorites. Online voting will take place November 2-November 7, 2016 and winners will be notified by November 10, 2016 and recognized at this year's America Recycles Day event at the Shoreway Environmental Center on November 19, 2016. For complete poster contest rules and entry form, please visit

The winners will have their posters displayed in a variety of locations that could include; on a Recology collection vehicle in their city, at RethinkWaste’s Shoreway Environmental Center in San Carlos, or used in RethinkWaste’s educational materials. Additionally, winners will receive the following:
