Atherton 2020 Earth Action Fair
Join us on Sunday, May 22nd for the Atherton 2020 Earth Action Fair from 1:00 to 5:00 pm in the new Event Garden in Holbrook-Palmer Park (located at 150 Watkins Avenue, Atherton, CA). More than 30 exhibitors will be there, including area students showcasing their Environmental Issue presentations competing in the Atherton 2020 Student Challenge. All attending will have a chance to view and learn about environmental issues and vote for their favorite presentation.
Area residents can discover how to live more sustainably by visiting with: several dozen area businesses, non-profit organizations, agencies, artists, as well as several town committees. Many specialists and enthusiasts will be available to discuss everything from financing and installing solar panels on homes to the state of clean nuclear power in California. Attendees will be able to learn about: the Net Zero Energy features of Atherton’s proposed Civic Center, test-drive an electric vehicle, how to recycle those pesky toxic items, also drop off small hazardous waste items (batteries and bulbs), and collect clean mulch for their gardens. There will be a place where you can recycle broken crayons for a good cause, upcycle a bike for a good cause, learn how to conserve water and energy, all while enjoying homemade snacks and live jazz music courtesy of the Menlo Atherton Jazz Band. This family-friendly event will provide a fun range of kid entertainment, including a bounce-house, and crafts and interests for teens and adults alike.
