 Sergeant Anthony Kockler
|
Weekly Atherton "Did You Know?"
The Town wants to introduce you to some of the experienced and skilled members of our Police Department. Meet Sergeant Anthony Kockler:
Sergeant Kockler is the Detective Sergeant, currently in his 26th year of service with the Atherton Police Department. Sergeant Kockler grew up in San Jose, CA and graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Social Work from San Jose State University in 1994. Sergeant Kockler was hired with Atherton Police in December of 1995 as Police Recruit. Since that time, Sergeant Kockler has held the positions of Patrol Officer, Motorcycle Officer, Field Training Officer, Evidence Technician, School Resource Officer, and Sergeant with a concentration on traffic. The position of Detective Sergeant has allowed Sergeant Kockler several opportunities to serve the community. Sergeant Kockler has worked on many cases in his five-year tenure, including property crimes (theft, burglary, vandalism), crimes against persons (domestic violence, sexual assault, crimes against children) and financial and on-line fraud. Lately, Sergeant Kockler’s focus has been on the recent burglaries that have occurred within Atherton. Sergeant Kockler reviews each burglary case for investigative leads and completes follow-up responsibilities as needed. Many times, Sergeant Kockler will utilize search warrants to further aid in the investigations, allowing him access to information held by social media companies, internet service providers, cell phone companies and other private institutions.
