IMG_5768

On 10/02/2021 at approximately 1530 hours, an alert resident contacted the Atherton Police Department regarding an unknown subject seen in their backyard. The subject was last seen jumping their rear fence towards a residence on Atherton Av. Officers quickly responded and established a perimeter in the area. As officers were searching the properties, the original reporting person saw the subject walking on Alameda De Las Pulgas. Officers responded to the area and safely took the subject into custody. The subject was transported and booked into the San Mateo County Jail for violating Penal Code 647(h) - Loitering With Intent to Commit Theft. We are asking residents in the area of Mulberry Ln and Atherton Av to check their properties/surveillance cameras and to report any thefts that may be related to the police department.
