On 09/19/2020, at approximately 9PM, a residential burglary occurred at a residence located on the 100 block of Atherton Avenue (near Elena Avenue).  In summary, the resident’s dog alerted to the second story master bathroom.  The resident followed the dog to the bathroom and discovered that the bathroom window was broken.  The resident then locked the bedroom door and immediately called the Atherton Police Department.

Officers responded to the residence, searched the home and the surrounding area, but no suspects were located.  No property was stolen.

A witness reported seeing a dark/silver Dodge Durango leaving scene just prior to APD’s arrival.  Further investigation revealed that a similarly described Dodge Durango was reported to have been involved in a similar type of burglary in Palo Alto approximately 90 minutes earlier.

This case remains under investigation.
