FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Town of Atherton – May 1, 2020

TOWN OF ATHERTON IS SEEKING THE FOLLOWING COMMITTEE & COMMISSION MEMBERS:

Audit and Finance Committee – 1 Vacancy

The City Council shall appoint one (1) applicant to the committee:

Applicant must be a Town of Atherton resident
Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at 2:00 p.m.;
Member appointments will be a four-year term.

Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee – 1 Vacancy

The City Council shall appoint one (1) applicant to the committee:

Applicant must be a Town of Atherton resident;
Meetings are held as needed on the fourth Tuesday of every other month at 4:00 pm. Special meetings may be called as needed throughout the year;
Member appointments will be a four-year term.

Environmental Programs Committee – 1 Vacancy

The City Council shall appoint one (1) applicant to the committee:

Applicant must be a Town of Atherton resident;
Meetings are held as needed on the third Thursday of every other month at 1:00 pm. Special meetings may be called as needed throughout the year;
Member appointments will be a four-year term.

Parks and Recreation Committee – 1 Vacancy

This is to fill one vacancy due to a term expiration on June 30, 2020, applicants for the existing vacant seat will be considered from the previous recruitment.

The City Council shall appoint two (2) applicants to the committee:

Applicant must be a Town of Atherton resident;
Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm. Special meetings may be called as needed throughout the year;
Member appointments will be a four-year term.

Planning Commission – 2 Vacancies

The City Council shall appoint two (2) applicants to the commission:

Applicant must be a Town of Atherton resident;
Meetings are held at a regularly scheduled time and date set by the commission;
Member appointments will be a four-year term.

Rail Committee – 3 Vacancies

The City Council shall appoint three (3) applicants to the committee:

Applicant must be a Town of Atherton resident;
Meetings are held as needed on the first Tuesday of every other month at 6:00 pm. Special meetings may be called as needed throughout the year;
Member appointments will be a four-year term.

Transportation Committee – 3 Vacancies

The City Council shall appoint three (3) applicants to the committee:

Applicant must be a Town of Atherton resident;
Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every other month;
Member appointments will be a four-year term.

Applications will be accepted May 1, 2020, – June 5, 2020. Applications can be accessed online at http://www.ci.atherton.ca.us/forms.aspx?FID=90. Application forms can also be mailed to the Office of the City Clerk at: 150 Watkins Avenue Atherton, CA 94027.

The deadline to submit all applications is Friday, June 5, 2020, by 5:00p.m.
