The Open House on October 4th at the Atherton Tennis Center put on by Atherton’s new Tennis Center manager, Player Capital Tennis, was a huge success! The day provided perfect weather and the courts were in tip top condition with new nets thanks to Park Staff who worked diligently to get the center in shape.
The Open House brought out over 50 kids and 10 adults out to enjoy a free tennis clinic. Kids learned the Player Capital ABC'S and the 1-2-3's, and competed in many fun games like triples, knockout, and around the world. The adults got their morning workout with a dose of cardio tennis. Hitting side to side feeds followed by maneuvering through cones and onto the ladder made sure they earned their refreshments. In addition Wilson Sporting Goods provided demo rackets for participants to try.
After some snacks and refreshments, Mayor Cary Weist posed for a picture with all the kids after speaking with excitement about Player Capital re-invigorating tennis at Holbrook Palmer Park.
Then Michael Jessup introduced his Player Capital staff and then had some students demonstrate drills and teaching methodology that Player Capital uses in clinics and lessons. Afterwards the anxious crowd finally got ready for the hit for prizes sponsored by Wilson and Tennis Town & Country. Everyone won prizes ranging from grips, vibration dampeners, towels, sports bottles, bags, and the grand prize was a Wilson Racket!
Player Capital Tennis would like to thank everyone that helped make this a special event and who came out and enjoyed the fun, food, and friendship!
