Town Center Project Activity Blog

In an effort to keep everyone updated on the progress of the Town’s Civic Center project, the following are some recent key accomplishments:

December 19, 2018

• City Council approved the Civic Center Plans, Specifications and Estimate (PS&E) Bid Documents; and Authorize staff to advertisement them for public bids. http://www.ci.atherton.ca.us/DocumentCenter/View/6083/Item-11

January 3, 2019

• Staff posted the Civic Center bid documents to begin the public bidding process on the Town’s website: http://www.ci.atherton.ca.us/bids.aspx?bidID=64 and numerous other contractor sites. Bids are due on Wednesday, February 13, 2019. Staff and the design team will be responding to requests for information (RFI’s) until one week prior to bids being due.

January 16, 2019

• Staff held a pre-bid meeting and site walk with interested General Contractors and subcontractors. January 23, 2019

January 28, 2019

• Central Valley Environmental (CVE) the contractor that demolished and removed the Library, began demolition and removal of the old Permit Center trailer, Public Works metal office building and removal of the emergency generator. This work was completed on January 31, 2019.

January 30, 2019

• At the At the request of 3 potential bidders, staff extended the bid response deadline from February 13th to 2 PM on February 27.
