Demolition Begins Today - June 24, 2019

Demolition work on the Administration Building, Emergency Services Shed, and Police Department Garage begins today.
Demolition of the Emergency Service Shed will be straightforward as the shed is not located near any inhabited and/or operable spaces. Demolition of the Administration Building and Police Department Garage will create more challenges as these spaces are nearer to residential areas and, in the case of the Administration Building, immediately connected to the Police Department Building which must remain operational during the demolition.

Police vehicles have had to be relocated to the exterior parking areas around the front of the Police Building during the demolition as the parking lot will be inundated with demolition vehicles, equipment and debris. A temporary pathway will be created to allow public access through the temporary Dispatch Center pass-thru window.
Demolition should take approximately 2-weeks after which a temporary ingress and egress will be created for the Police Department to Ashfield and Fair Oaks. Secure parking will be restored with temporary fencing.
Demolition work will occur between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday. During this time there will be noise from the demolition and the construction trucks and equipment. Dust is required to be kept to a minimum using the Air Quality Management District requirements for a construction site.
