Recommendation: Receive report regarding El Camino Real and provide feedback on potential improvements and implementation of the Grand Boulevard Greenway along El Camino Real in Atherton.
Description: This item presents information regarding El Camino Real within the Town of Atherton for Council discussion and feedback on potential future improvements that could better accommodate active transportation modes including bicycle and pedestrian facilities as well as its designation in the Towns bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan as the Grand Boulevard Greenway.
2. DISCUSSION ON AMENDMENTS TO ATHERTON MUNICIPAL CODE CHAPTER 8.10 “REMOVAL OF AND DAMAGE TO HERITAGE TREES”, INCLUDING AMENDING THE TREE PRESERVATION GUIDELINES, STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONSReport: Stephanie B. Davis, Senior Planner and Sally Bentz-Dalton, Town Arborist
Recommendation: It is recommended that the City Council receive a report from staff on amendments to the Town’s Municipal Code Chapter 8.10 “Removal of and Damage to Heritage Trees”, including amendments to the Town’s Tree Preservation Guidelines, Standards, and Specifications and provide direction to staff.
Description: This item will involve a follow up discussion from the 3/20/19 City Council Meeting and appointed Ad-Hoc Subcommittee's comments of the Town’s Heritage Tree Ordinance, Tree Protection Zones, and the various penalties associated with damage and removal of heritage trees. The Council will discuss tree preservation guidelines and standards and provide direction to staff on how to amend the Town’s ordinance. ADJOURN
