3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES December 4, 2018
Recommendation: Approve minutes for December 4, 2018.

5. REGULAR AGENDA

5a.   Peninsula Corridor Electrification Project Update and Discussion (5 min.)
The Committee will receive a brief report on current activities related to Caltrain’s electrification of the peninsula corridor.  The Committee will have the opportunity to discuss current and upcoming activities as well as related items.  Not an action item.
5b.    Litigation Update (5 min.) The Committee will receive a brief report on current status of pending litigation with the California High Speed Rail Authority. The Committee will have the opportunity to discuss current and upcoming activities as well as related items.  Not an action item. 5c.    Dumbarton Rail Corridor Update (5 min.) The Committee will receive a brief report on the current status of the Dumbarton Rail Corridor.  The Committee will have the opportunity to discuss the Dumbarton Rail Corridor, current and upcoming activities as well as related items.  Not an action item. 5d.   1.         Denver Regional Transportation District and Denver Transit Partners Rail Line Update (5 min.) The Committee will receive a brief report on the current status of the Denver Transit Partners rail projects in Denver, including issues related to crossing safety, gate warning downtimes, recent Federal Railway Administration actions to the Denver Regional Transportation District, and other related items.  The Committee will have the opportunity to discuss the issues related to rail service operations in Denver and how they may be faced along the Caltrain corridor.  Not an action item.  2.         Recommend that the City Council send a letter to Caltrtain regarding operational issues at the Denver Regional Transportation District and Denver Transit Partners rail operations in Denver as they may impact service along the Caltrain corridor. (10 min.) The Committee will review a draft letter to Caltrain regarding operational issues and concerns at the Denver Regional Transportation District and Denver Transit Partners, including issues related to crossing safety, gate warning downtimes, recent Federal Railway Administration actions to the Denver Regional Transportation District, and other related items, as they may affect operations along the Caltrain Corridor.  The Committee may make a recommendation to Council to send the letter to Caltrain. 5e.   Discussion and Recommendation Regarding Future Train Service in Atherton, Town Rail Policy, and State Legislation regarding Housing along Transportation Corridors (45 min) The Committee will discuss potential levels of rail service at the Atherton Train Station, ranging from continuation of weekend only service, to resumption of weekday service and discontinuation of service.  The Committee will discuss the benefits and potential impacts of service changes, including, but not limited to, vehicular and bicycle parking, traffic, shuttles and ride-hailing services.  The Committee may also discuss potential legislation regarding land-use around the train station as it may be influenced by rail service at the station.  The Committee may act to refer a recommendation on level of service desired to the Council for consideration. The Committee will also discuss the Resolution Governing Town Committees adopted by the Council on May 16, 2018, and Committee recommendations approved at the December 4, 2018, Committee Meeting.  The Committee may act to refer recommended language changes to the Council for consideration.
5f.   Menlo Park Grade Separation Update (10 min) The Committee will receive a brief report on recent actions and deliberations by the City of Menlo Park related to railway grade separations. The Committee will have the opportunity to discuss the current developments in Menlo Park, related items, and potential impacts to the Town of Atherton.  Not an action item.
