Services

The Public Works Department is responsible for the overall planning, maintenance, operation, and improvement of public infrastructure, including streets, storm drainage, parks, and all town owned buildings and facilities.

The department also provides engineering services and project management for a majority of the town’s annual Capital Improvement Program. In partnering with the community, our goal is to provide cost-effective, proactive services for a public infrastructure and facilities in a personal, responsive, and innovative manner.

Operations and Services Changes

In response to COVID-19 the Town is implementing temporary changes to operations through May 31, 2020 or until further notice. 

On March 18, 2020, The City Council approved the Resolution declaring a Local Emergency pursuant to COVID-19. The Council directed that all construction activity be shut down for the duration of the Shelter-in-Place Order. Sites are allowed to work with maximum urgency to secure and make safe the sites for the duration of the order – through Saturday March 21, 2020. 

Issuance and inspection of permits will be limited to critical habitation related issues – emergency roof repairs, gas/water/sewer repairs, etc. Applications will be accepted electronically through the following email address: mgreenlee@ci.atherton.ca.us
