TOA

Preparing for a Disaster....

This mornings magnitude 4.4 earthquake helps serve as a good reminder to be prepared.
In the event of a major disaster (earthquake, flooding), the Town  strongly urges all residents (approximately 7,200 of us) to be prepared to be on our own for up to 7 days. During this time, we are not likely to have much support from First Responders or access to emergency and hospital services, utilities, fresh water or food, or passable roads due to fallen trees, or even have communication with the outside world.  In other words, we need to be ready to be fully self-sufficient for at least a week!  If you don’t really know where to start or need more information, ADAPT can be a useful local resource.
