Marsh Road

Marsh Road Project Update

Thank you to the community for your ongoing support and patience as the Marsh Road construction progresses. A few items to help folks understand what is happening with respect to signage and traffic control:

Signage:
It is imperative residents do not remove or relocate signage. Signage has been placed to notice the community but also to permit safe travel in the street rights of way. If you see that a sign has been removed please contact us immediately.

Flaggers:
The Town is making regular assessments of project needs (flaggers included) weekly. We monitor the traffic flow with both field crews, public input and traffic counts. As adjustments need to be made, we make them. Basic construction flaggers are required at all times. Detour flaggers are not.

Updates about the project including traffic counts are posted to the Town’s project webpage at http://www.ci.atherton.ca.us/marshroad.

We appreciate everyone’s patience as the project moves along. Construction traffic will get more congested over the next few weeks as they off-haul debris, deliver rebar, and begin concrete pours. Construction flaggers will be present for the entire project while detour flaggers will be on-site during peak traffic flow hours and at identified hot spots.

Again we appreciate your help, patience and understanding as we complete this project as safely and expediently as possible.

National Night Out is nearing!

On Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 6pm to 8pm, the Town of Atherton will host its third annual National Night Out in the Park at Holbrook-Palmer Park, 150 Watkins Ave.

National Night Out is a nation-wide program designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support and participation in crime efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community relations, and let criminals know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Residents are encouraged to join members of the Atherton Police Department, CHP and Menlo Park Fire District to help promote resident involvement in crime prevention and disaster preparedness, and have fun while doing it.

There will be plenty of children's activities and games at the event. View last years galley by clicking here.
