Toys Collected

Atherton PD Toy Drive

This year the Atherton Police Department participated in the San Mateo County Toy and Book Drive.

A big thanks to our residents who brought in new, unwrapped toys and books for boys and girls ages 0-12.  The toys and books will be distributed to needy families in the Redwood City, San Mateo County, and San Carlos areas.

There is still time to donate. A barrel has been set up in the lobby between the Police Department and Administration. You can place unwrapped toys and books in the bin until early next week. On December 22 Santa and his reindeer will pick up the barrel and bring it back to the North Pole for wrapping.
Thanks to Community Services Officer Erica Johnson for coordinating!

Civic Center Project Update

The Town in conjunction with the Civic Center Advisory Committee (CCAC) and the Town’s Civic Center Architects (WRNS Studios, LLP) will kick off a series of community meetings to present updated schematics of the new Civic Center Project.
Following extensive analysis and review by the CCAC, the City Council approved the Civic Center Conceptual Design in October, 2015
Right now, CCAC is working with WRNS Studios, LLP on the Schematic Design Phase, which includes fine-tuning of room sizes and relationships, systems, interior spaces, and preparation of preliminary elevation studies of the buildings’ exteriors.
The new civic center needs a lot of public input and participation along the way so we encourage you to get involved at every stage. We want your input!
Join us at this community meeting to review and provide input on the latest preliminary plans for the new civic center including police and library facilities from your architects, WRNS Studio, LLP.

Thank You!

Please be reminded that the Town is closed beginning on Thursday, December 24 through Friday, January 1, 2016. Town Hall will re-open on Monday, January 4, 2016 at 8am. The Police Department is unaffected by the closure.

It has been more than two years since the Town redeveloped its website to improve service delivery, democratic responsiveness and public outreach. There are a number of webpages within the site where users can find information about ongoing capital improvements projects, local municipal services, City Council and Committee & Commission information, and a Transparency Tab which can be accessed from the homepage that includes campaign disclosures, town budgets, City Council policies & procedures and a financial data portal.

And don't forget to navigate to the Police Department's webpage where it includes CitizenRIMS. Here users can access detailed information about police activity. In addition to routine incidents, CitizenRIMS shows recent criminal activity and information about arrested persons, missing persons, and stolen vehicles.

And of course, you can always access Town Meeting videos and look up the calendar meeting schedule 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Additionally, Atherton participates through various social media outlets as well as feedback opportunities on the Town's website. Check out the Social Media Page.

We continue to add webpages and ideas to make life easier for you. Have an idea? Let me know.

We hope you find our site useful.

Thank you for being a part of Atherton Online.
